Statement of faith
We believe…
We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son (Jesus Christ), and Holy Spirit (commonly referred to as the Trinity).
We believe the Bible is inspired by God and is truth without any mixture of error.
We believe Jesus Christ lived a sinless human life then willingly died on a cross to offer Himself as the atoning sacrifice for the sins of mankind. He rose from the dead three days later.
Though originally good, the first man willingly fell to sin – ushering evil and death, both physical and spiritual, into the world. Mankind was then separated from God by sin.
We believe that only by accepting Jesus’ sacrifice for sin and asking Him for forgiveness, can we be forgiven by God. When we do this, we are cleansed, and the barrier of sin that separates us from God is removed; this is how we begin a personal relationship with God.
We believe God loves all people and desires to be in relationship with us. He has a plan and purpose for each of us and wants to be intricately involved in our lives.
We believe Holy Spirit lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation (putting trust in Jesus and asking for forgiveness). He provides the Jesus-follower with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right.
Water baptism is a demonstration of our decision to accept Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior, thus committing our lives to God.
All people sin at some point and fall short of the glory of God. Because God is holy and just, He must judge sin. The penalty for sin when we die is eternal separation from God (Hell). However, through Jesus Christ the sin debt has been paid, and those who make Jesus their personal Lord and Savior have access to eternal life (Heaven).
We believe God, in His own time and way, will bring the world to its appropriate end. Jesus will return personally and visibly in glory to the earth. The dead will be raised, and Jesus Christ will judge all men. The righteous, through faith in Jesus, will be given resurrected and glorified bodies. They will receive their rewards and will live forever in Heaven with the Lord.
We believe the purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving and obeying Him, and bringing the good news of what Jesus has done, to the world. We believe it is important for believers to meet regularly together for community, teaching, encouragement, and prayer.
